What is the minimum and maximum length of characters for a password?
The password length is a minimum of 8 characters and a maximum of 12 characters, one character must be a numerical digit.

Is the password case-sensitive?
Yes, the password in case-sensitive.

Are there any other limitations or rules on passwords?
Yes, there are some limitations.
Password must not begin with a question mark or exclamation point.
Blanks are not allowed.
The first three characters of a password must not be identical.
A password may not be changed back to the user’s previous five passwords.
Users can only change their password once a day.
At least one character of the password must be a number(0-9).

Are there any passwords or a combination of words that can not be used for a password?
Yes, listed below are some examples of passwords that are not permitted.
*BOBCAT*
*CATS*
*SWT*
*TEXAS*
*TSU*
*TXST*

I am receiving a message that my user id is locked. How do I correct this issue?
The user account will be locked after 12 unsuccessful attempts to logon to the system. Please call the SAP help line at 245-4SAP and select the option for security issues.

How often do I have to change my password?
You must reset your password every 90 days. The system will prompt you to enter a new password.

I have changed my Texas State password. Is this password the same as my SAP password?
No, the passwords are different. You will be prompted to change your SAP password at the appropriate time. Please be advised that changing your Texas State password does not change your SAP password.

Is it okay for a web browser to remember my password?
We do not recommend you allow the browser to remember your password. If you do so, you may run into problems when changing your password next time. See the links below on how to clear saved password.
