SAPGUI for Java Information

How long will SAPGUI for Java 6.30 sofware be supported?
The SAPGUI for Java 6.30 software will no longer be supported as of April 30, 2006. Texas State faculty and staff who use SAPGUI for Java 6.30 to access SAP will need to upgrade to Mac OS X 10.4 with SAPGUI for Java 6.40.

This change is a direct result of SAPs recent decision to only support its software on Mac OS X 10.4 and above. SAPGUI for Java 6.30 does not run on Mac OS X 10.4, therefore SAPGUI for Java 6.40 must be used. Mac users are encouraged to upgrade soon as possible.

If you need assistance upgrading to:

  • Mac OS X 10.4, contact your Technical Support Person or call 245-HELP.
  • SAPGUI for Java 6.40, contact the SAPUI team at sapui@txstate.edu.

Prior to the April 30, 2006 deadline date Texas State will provide limited support for SAPGUI for Java 6.30 revision 12 on Mac OS X 10.3. If after the deadline you experience difficulties with SAPGUI for Java 6.30, you will be directed to make the requested upgrade. If upgrading is not a viable option, SAP transactions can be completed on a windows based computer.
